Jones averaged 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds and led his team in assists (5.7 apg), steals (3.5 spg) and free-throw percentage (77.6 %, 121-fof-156) as a sophomore ... also shot 45.8 percent (22-of-48) from three-point range ... he helped lead the Volunteers to a 24-7 overall record and a Great Rivers Athletic Conference title with a 14-2 mark ... he earned honorable mention JUCO All-American honors and was also named first team All-GRAC in 2009-10 ... the Volunteers ended the season ranked No. 13 in the national polls ... he scored a career-best 27 points and added four rebounds, four assists and two steals against Vincennes University (Dec. 12).

High School
Jones was a four-year (2004-05 to 2007-08) basketball letterman at Simeon Career Academy in Chicago under head coach Robert Smith ... his team won the city and state titles in 2006-07, which included Derrick Rose, now with the Chicago Bulls ... the Wolverines won the Chicago Public Red South league his last two years, going 29-4 overall and 10-0 in the CPRS in 2007-08 and 31-2 overall and 13-1 in league play in 2006-07 ... Simeon was ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 4 nationally in 2006-07 ... the Wolverines were also ranked No. 1 in the state and No. 38 nationally his sophomore season, when Simeon went 32-4 overall ... in 2007-08, the Wolverines were No. 9 in the Illinois state rankings and finished second in the State Tournament ... although he played starter minutes, he came off the bench and averaged 14.0 ppg, 6.0 apg and 3.0 rpg as a senior in 2007-08.
