Keefe made the ultimate sacrifice last season and gave up the possibility of redshirting the season to help the Bruins win their third straight Pac-10 regular season title and make their third-straight Final Four appearance ... Keefe had surgery on Aug. 10, 2007 to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder, forcing him to miss the first 12 games of the season ... appeared in 25 games, making one start and playing 292 minutes (11.7 mpg) on the season ... he averaged 2.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, 0.2 assists, 0.6 blocks and 0.1 steals per game ... he shot 49.1 percent (26-for-53) from the field (which was third on the squad) and 26.7 percent (4-for-15) from three-point range ... also shot 56.5 percent (13-for-23) from the free-throw line ... had almost as many offensive rebounds (32) as he did defensive boards (35) ... he recorded his first career double-double performance with career highs of 18 points and 12 rebounds in the Bruins' NCAA Tournament "Sweet 16" victory over Western Kentucky (Mar. 27) ... he also had two assists and a career-high tying four blocks against the WKU Hilltoppers ... also came up big in the Bruins' Pac-10 Tournament title win over Stanford (Mar. 15) when he tallied eight points, three rebounds and a block against the Cardinal ... also had four points, seven rebounds, four blocks and one assist in UCLA's NCAA Tournament first round win over Mississippi Valley State (Mar. 20) ... garnered the Bruin Hoopsters J.D. Morgan Memorial Award for outstanding team play at the team's annual postseason banquet (co-winner with Josh Shipp).
2006-07
He appeared in 32 of the 36 games, averaging 6.8 minutes per game ... had a season-high six rebounds (two offensive) in 15 minutes against Florida (Mar. 31) ... registered two points, four rebounds (career-high-tying three offensive boards) and an assist in nine minutes in the NCAA First Round victory over Weber State (Mar. 15) ... scored three points and had one block in nine minutes against Arizona (Jan. 20) ... grabbed four rebounds in just five minutes in the loss at Oregon (Jan. 6) ... had four points and led the team with five rebounds in the win over Michigan (Dec. 23) ... also had two blocks against the Wolverines ... had a season-high five points in the win over Sam Houston State (Dec. 19), making his first three-pointer of the season ... registered four points, two steals and added one rebound in 10 minutes in a win over Cal State Fullerton (Dec. 5) ... had two points and season-bests of two assists, two blocks and five rebounds in the win over Chaminade (Nov. 20) ... had at least one rebound in 21 of the 32 games he played ... after starting the year 0-for-3 from three-point range, he made three of his last six attempts for 33.3 percent (3-for-9) on the year.

Four-year varsity basketball letterwinner at Santa Margarita High School for head coach Jerry DeBusk ... earned McDonald's All-America honors as a senior (the 26th McDonald's All-American to attend UCLA) and second-team Parade Magazine All-America accolades ... in the McDonald's All-American game (March 29, 2006 in San Diego), Keefe helped the West defeat the East, 112-94, contributing five points, three rebounds, two blocks and one steal in 14 minutes ... he received the fourth-most votes on the Long Beach Press-Telegram's Best in the West team ... captured Orange County Register All-County accolades as a senior and was a three-time All-CIF selection ... helped lead Santa Margarita to CIF titles as a sophomore and junior; advanced to the CIF title game as a senior ... in 2006, Keefe averaged 19.0 points and 11.5 rebounds, along with nearly 3.0 assists a game ... he saved his best games for the playoffs, scoring 25 points and grabbing 20 rebounds in a victory over Gahr HS (of Cerritos) in the CIF-SS Division III-AA quarterfinals ... he also tallied 24 points and 13 rebounds in a win over La Cañada in the Div. III-AA semifinals ... as a junior in 2005, he averaged 17.0 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.7 blocks, earning second-team Parade Magazine All-American honors and State Junior Player of the Year accolades ... played club ball with the Southern California All-Stars.
