UCLA Considered the No. 1 prep tight end prospect in the U. S. in 2001, Lewis is one of three Bruins who are two-sport standouts, joining Matt McKinney (volleyball) and Ryan Hollins (track & field)
Lewis, a true freshman tight end for the Bruins this fall in football, will join the basketball team at the completion of the 2002 college football season.
High School A prep football standout, Lewis was also a star basketball player at Long Beach Poly, earning three varsity letters as a power forward
As a senior last season in basketball, he was named second team All-CIF and to the Long Beach Press-Telegram "Dream Team"
Lewis was also a member of the Press-Telegram basketball "Dream Team" as a junior
As a senior in 2001-02, Lewis averaged 13.0 points and 8.0 rebounds and as a junior, he averaged over 19 points and 11 rebounds per game

Played quarterback as a prep freshman and moved to tight end with the varsity his last three seasons
