Opening statement: "I thought, first of all, that Cal State San Bernardino was a good test for us in an exhibition game. It was a good test to be on the road. I was appreciative of the crowd. This is a nice facility. When you look at the first half, our field goal percentage defense was good. But in the second half we rushed some shots and took some shots that were ill-advised. They shot better and had a lot of open looks. But it was good to see us fight back. Josh was as effective as he was in the first scrimmage. I was pleased with our free throw shooting. Tomorrow we're going to watch the entire game as a team. We're not going to beat a lot of teams unless we get better."

"You've got to give them (Cal State San Bernardino) credit. They did a good job. You could see how not having Jerime (Anderson) there, not having a second point guard, hurt us."

On CSUSB's zone: "They started on a 1-1-3 then fell to a 2-3. A couple of times we attacked it well. We've got to keep getting the ball inside to our bigs and continue to attack the high post."

On playing in Ontario, closer to San Bernardino than LA: "It's great for the Inland Empire fans, for UCLA and for Cal State San Bernardino. I'm pleased, especially considering that it was raining, that we had over 6,000 fans here today."

On making his free throws: "When I was at home, I talked to my high school coach, and I talked to Coach Howland. A lot of times I fall back before the ball goes in, and I've tried to work on that."

On getting feeds: "Everytime we go out there, we know our jobs. Mine is to help our team out as best as I can. I need to keep passing and finishing."

On playing on the "road": "We're just going to have to get used to it. But as I've said before, it doesn't matter to me where we play. We've just got to play well as a team. All the hoops are 10 feet, all the courts are the same length."

Cal State San Bernardino Head Coach Jeff Oliver
"I'm proud of the guys. I thought they played hard and stuck to the game plan well. I knew they'd be a load on the glass. We got into key foul trouble but our guys played very well."

On what they get out of playing a close game: "It's a Catch-22 because the guys get full of themselves and think they're better than they are, but at the same time, they can also realize that they have a lot of potential."

On defending Joshua Smith: "When we set our defense, we did a very good job. But Joshua Smith is a load. He's huge. We tried to be physical with him, but it's hard. He's a big man."
