Afflalo and Collison Honored By NABC

Bruin duo named first-team All-District 15

Feb. 28, 2007

UCLA basketball standouts Arron Afflalo and Darren Collison have been selected first-team All-District 15 by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), it was announced today.

Afflalo, a junior guard, is the leading candidate for Pac-10 Player of the Year honors. A lockdown defender, he is the Bruins' leading scorer (17.5 average) and has led the team in scoring in eight of the last 11 games. He is also second in the Pac-10 in three-point field goals per game. Collison, a sophomore, is in his first season as the Bruins' starting point guard. He ranks first in the Pac-10 in steals and second in assists while averaging 12.9 points.

ESPN's Andy Katz has called Afflalo and Collison the top backcourt in the country.

Joining Afflalo and Collison on the first team are USC's Nick Young, Arizona's Marcus Williams and Cal State Fullerton's Bobby Brown. NABC District 15 includes the southern half of California and Nevada, as well as Arizona, New Mexico and Hawaii.

Afflalo and Collison are now eligible for selection to the NABC All-America team.
