Darren Collison Named UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Sophomore point guard Darren Collison (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda HS) of the UCLA men's basketball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 12-18.

Sophomore point guard Darren Collison (Rancho Cucamonga, CA/Etiwanda HS) of the UCLA men's basketball team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Mar. 12-18.

Collison helped lead UCLA to its second consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearance with a first round NCAA tournament victory over Weber State and a second-round win over Indiana. In the Indiana contest, Collison scored 15 points, hit two late free throws and made the game-deciding steal as UCLA survived a late rally by the Hoosiers for a 54-49 win. Against Weber State, Collison scored 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting from the field and had eight assists and three steals.

This is Collison's second UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of his career.
