Phil Rauscher is in his second year as a graduate assistant coach. This season, he will assist offensive coordinator Norm Chow and also work with the tight ends. His duties will also include breaking down opponents' game video, aiding the coaches with game preparation and directing the defensive scout team.
Rauscher, who graduated from UCLA in June of 2007 with a degree in History, served as an intern last season, working with the offensive coaches and helping recruit a Top 10 class to Westwood this past February. In 2006, he served as an undergraduate assistant coach, working with the offensive line. That year, UCLA upset USC 13-9.
He entered UCLA in the Fall of 2003 and was a member of the football team for three seasons as both an offensive and defensive lineman before becoming an undergraduate student coach.
Rauscher played several positions, including linebacker, defensive end, offensive line and running back at LaCosta (CA) Canyon High School, earning various honors. He graduated from LaCosta Canyon in 2003.
His brother Glenn is a redshirt sophomore tight end on the Bruin squad.
