Geoff Schaadt is entering his tenth year at the University and sixth full year as UCLA’s Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation. He oversees the operation of UCLA’s combined men’s and women’s training room and has primary responsibility for football.
Schaadt leads a center that offers Bruin athletes a comprehensive program entailing injury prevention; recognition, evaluation and management of injuries; rehabilitation and reconditioning following injury or surgery; and education and counseling. In addition, the staff and facilities of the UCLA Medical Center, one of the world’s best medical teaching facilities, are heavily utilized in the treatment of the student-athletes.
Schaadt joined the Bruin athletic training staff in July, 1993. He previously served as an assistant athletic trainer at the U.S. Military Academy in West Point, NY (1992-93) and at the University of Arizona (1990-92). Schaadt also did an internship with the Indianapolis Colts during the 1989 season. He is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Far West Athletic Trainers’ Association and the California Athletic Trainers’ Association.
The Athletic Training and Rehabilitation Center is a coed facility staffed by Certified Athletic Trainers — Kim Antonio, Chris Ferry, Lorita Granger, Debbie Iwasaki, Lori Liegl, Mark Schoen and Tony Spino. They are assisted by 25 student athletic trainers.
