Chris Horton Named To Playboy All-America Team

Football coaches participate in free youth clinic

May 7, 2007

UCLA senior strong safety Chris Horton has been selected to the Playboy pre-season All-America team.

Horton and the rest of the Playboy team will be together at a Phoenix-area resort this coming weekend for a photo shoot and to tape segments for the Playboy football pre-season television special.

Horton was UCLA's leading tackler in 2006. One of the hardest hitters in the nation at his position, Horton finished the year with 95 tackles and led the team in tackles in six of the last eight games (including ties). He also ranked second on the team with three interceptions.

Last Saturday (May 5), Shelter 37, a non-profit organization run by former Bruin safety James Washington, staged a free clinic for young boys and girls at Los Angeles Southwest College.

UCLA head football coach Karl Dorrell and the entire Bruin football staff donated their time to work with close to 500 youngsters, eighth grade and younger, at the clinic. Shelter 37 provided free lunches for the participants.
