Bruins Arrive in San Bernardino to Start Camp

UCLA begins preparations for the Aug. 30 season-opener at Rice with a 2:45 practice on Saturday at the Cal State University San Bernardino campus. The players traveled to San Bernardino in the afternoon and checked in to their dorm rooms. The team then took a tour of the facilities at CSUSB before settling down for a meal and meetings. Saturday begins early for the team, with breakfast set to begin at 6:30 a.m., followed by meetings and morning lifts. The team will hit the field for the first time at 2:45 p.m. Fans heading to Cal State San Bernardino (5500 University Parkway, San Bernardino, CA 92407) should plan on bringing their own chairs, as there are no bleachers around the practice fields. Parking ($5 daily charge) can be secured at the parking kiosk off the Coyote Drive entrance to the university. Plenty of parking is available in lots (Lot G is closest to field) within a short walk of the practice site located on the east side of the campus. The Bruins will remain at Cal State San Bernardino through Thursday, Aug. 16 with the practice sessions open to the public. A full schedule of practice times is listed below. UCLA opens the 2012 football season on the road with a game against Rice on August 30 (6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT). The Bruins then return home to the Rose Bowl for three straight games - Nebraska (Sept. 8, 4:30 p.m.), Houston (Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m.) and Oregon State (Sept. 22, time TBA).
