Bruins Return to Practice Field on Saturday
Aug. 25, 2012
The Bruins returned to the new turf and grass surfaces of Spaulding Field for practice on Saturday as they prepare for the August 30 season-opener at Rice. "That was just a little bonus work today," said Coach Mora. " We will start, what will be, our normal game week preparation tomorrow."
The Bruins are 60-28-5 all-time in season-openers. This will be the third straight season UCLA has begun a season away from the Rose Bowl and the second year in a row that a season will open in Houston, TX.
The game against Rice University, on August 30, will be televised by the CBS Sports Network beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT/4:30 p.m. PT. The Bruins then return home to the Rose Bowl for three straight games --- Nebraska (Sept. 8, 4:30 p.m. on FOX), Houston (Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m. on Pac-12 Networks) and Oregon State (Sept. 22, time TBA).
