Junior quarterback Ben Olson (Thousand Oaks, CA/Thousand Oaks HS) of the UCLA football team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Aug. 27-Sept. 3.
In just his second career road start, Olson completed 16 of 29 passes for 286 yards and a career-high five touchdowns with no interceptions in UCLA's 45-17 win at Stanford. The five touchdowns rank second (tied) on UCLA's single-game list, and all five went to wide receivers - two to Joe Cowan (77 and 19 yards) and one each to Brandon Breazell (15 yards), Gavin Ketchum (six yards) and Dominique Johnson (four yards). The 77-yard pass was also the longest completion of Olson's career. His 286 yards rank second-highest in his Bruin career.
This is Olson's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and second of his career.
