Traffic Advisory For UCLA-Washington State Football Game
Oct. 3, 2008
Fans attending the UCLA-Washington State game at the Rose Bowl are encouraged to arrive at the Rose Bowl early to tailgate, visit the Fan Zone in Area H, which opens at 3:00 pm, and attend the men's water polo game against No. 2 UCLA and No. 7 Long Beach State at 4:00 pm at the Rose Bowl Aquatics Center.
The Seinfeld Campus Tour will visit the Fan Zone in the Rose Bowl on Saturday. Fans of the hit TV show can go inside the interactive tour bus to see costumes, props and memorabilia from the show, and sample food popularized on the show, such as black & white cookies. Actor Larry Thomas ("No soup for you!") will make a guest appearance.
In addition to the UCLA game, which begins at 7:15 pm, USC is playing at the L.A. Coliseum at 5:00 pm, and the Los Angeles Dodgers are hosting the Chicago Cubs in the National League Division Series at Dodger Stadium at 7:00 pm. Fans going to the Rose Bowl should avoid the 110 Freeway if possible to avoid the traffic in the downtown area and plan on arriving early.
As always, shuttle buses from the Parsons Engineering parking lot in downtown Pasadena (Walnut and Fair Oaks) will be available to fans for just $2 round trip. Parking at the Parsons Lot is free. Shuttle service begins four hours prior to kickoff and runs up to one hour after the game. In addition, the Metro Gold Line will run from downtown Los Angeles (and points further) to downtown Pasadena (approximately one block from the Parsons Lot) on game days. Gold Line patrons are encouraged to use the $2 shuttle from the Parsons lot to and from the Rose Bowl.
Parking at the Rose Bowl is $15. Area H general parking opens 10 hours prior to kickoff, while golf course parking opens four hours prior. RV parking ($40) on West Drive is for day-of-game only and opens at 7:00 am.
