Karl Dorrell Agrees To Two-Year Extension

Contract runs through the 2010 season

Dec. 17, 2004

UCLA head football coach Karl Dorrell and the University have reached an agreement to extend Dorrell's contract for two additional seasons, athletic director Dan Guerrero announced today.

With the extension, which runs through the 2010 season, Dorrell now has a six-year contract, the same length as his original contract. Last January, he declined the offer of a one-year rollover. Dorrell's annual compensation package remains the same.

"The progress the program has made under Karl's leadership is clearly evident," said Guerrero. "He has built a solid foundation for the program and we expect the next several years to be very successful ones for the UCLA football program."

"I am grateful to Dan Guerrero and Chancellor (Albert) Carnesale for their support," Dorrell said. "I feel that we have the program heading in the right direction. Our players and coaches have all worked extremely hard this season. We all share the vision of greatness for this program and we are excited about our future."
