Flores Captures Co-Medalist Honors at U.S. Collegiate Championships

UCLA senior Erik Flores won his second collegiate title Tuesday and the Bruins tied for seventh at the U.S. Collegiate Championships, hosted by Georgia Tech at The Golf Club of Georgia.
Flores tied for medalist honors with Alabama's Bud Cauley at 212 (-4). Both players carded final round scores of 73 (+1) to finish two strokes in front of Stanford's David Chung.
The Bruins posted a team score of 298 (+10) and tied for seventh place with Washington at 887 (+23). Both teams finished one stroke in front of third-ranked USC and 11 strokes behind the winner, Clemson (876, +12). Seventh-ranked Stanford placed second at 878 (+14).
UCLA freshman Gregor Main tied for 28th at 224 (+8), following a round of 74 (+2). Main improved 10 strokes up the leader board in the final round. Freshman Mauricio Azcue tied for 41st place at 227 (+11) after carding a round of 75 (+3). Sophomore Philip Francis tied for 51st at 229 (+13) following a round of 76 (+4) on Tuesday. Sophomore Connor Driscoll tied for 64th at 232 (+16) after posting a score of 78 (+6).
