UCLA Blue Team Ties for Second at Cullum Intercollegiate

Bruins record the day's best score.

The UCLA men's golf Blue Team tied for second place at the Bill Cullum Intercollegiate, hosted by Cal State Northridge at Wood Ranch Country Club.

The Bruins recorded the best score of the day -- 292 (+4) -- and tied for second place with Cal State San Marcos at 889 (+25). Holy Names University won the event with a score of 879 (+15). Pacific finished fourth at 894, followed by Utah State at 896.

Individually for the Bruins, sophomore Kevin Chappell finished second at 215 (-1) after posting a final round score of 70 (-2). Sophomore Craig Leslie tied for ninth place at 222 (+6) following a final round 75. Brandon Christianson tied for 17th at 226 (+10) after posting an even par score of 72. Junior Joakim Renstrom tied for 33rd at 231 (+15). Peter Campbell, who withdrew in yesterday's second round because of injury, signed for a 76 in the final round.

Charles Chee of Holy Names won the event with a 54-hole total of 211 (-5) after posting a 72 on Tuesday.
