Seven UCLA Golfers Named to Pac-12 All-Academic Team

This is the second straight year that Figueiredo and Lange have been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team. Figueiredo received first team accolades a year ago while Lange was named to the second team last year. Figueiredo currently sports a 3.60 GPA as an Economics major while Lange has a 3.82 GPA as a Business Economics major.
Sophomores Anton Arboleda and Patrick Cantlay, and junior Pontus Widegren were all named honorable mention Pac-12 All-Academic as well. This is the first time that each player has been named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team.
On the women's side, juniors Lee Lopez and Tiffany Lua each received honorable mention accolades. It was the second consecutive year that both Lopez and Lua were named an honorable selection after both players earned honorable mention honors back in 2011.
The Pac-12 states that to be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
The UCLA men's golf team closed their season with a tie for fifth place at the NCAA Championship last week while the UCLA women's team tied a school record with seven tournament victories during the 2012 season.
