Cantlay Ties for Ninth at Canadian Open

UCLA sophomore Patrick Cantlay continued his amazing Summer of 2011, tying for ninth place at the RBC Canadian Open Sunday at the Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club.

Cantaly, who has made four PGA Tour cuts in four starts, tied for ninth place with scores of 72-71-68-69--280 (E). He played the final 36 holes in three-under par. In the final round, he recorded three birdies and two bogeys.

This summer Cantlay has played 16 rounds in professional tournaments in 14-under par.

Next week he'll play in the Western Amateur, followed by the Porter Cup and the U.S. Amateur, where he advanced to the semifinals in 2010.

Former Bruins Scott McCarron and Kevin Chappell also competed in the Canadian Open. McCarron tied for 17th (282, +2) and Chappell tied for 40th (287, +7).
