Bruins Begin Season at Ohio State on Monday

The third-ranked UCLA men's golf team begins the 2011-12 season at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational, hosted by Ohio State on Monday in Dublin, OH.
The 54-hole, two day event will be played at Muirfield Village Golf Club, which will play to a par of 72 over 7,352 yards. A dozen teams are scheduled to play, including perennial Midwest powers Oklahoma State, Texas and Arkansas.
Oklahoma State is the defending champion, capturing last year's title with a score of 864 (+24) at Sciota. Illinois' Luke Guthrie won medalist honors with a score of 205 (-5).
In other UCLA golf news, sophomore Patrick Cantlay finished his competition at the Frys.com Open in San Martin, tying for 67th with a 72-hole score of 285 (+2). Cantlay posted a 73 (+2) in the final round.
