San Diego, Calif. - No. 10/3 UCLA improved its record to 4-1 after defeating San Diego, 2-1, Friday night in San Diego. It was UCLA's first win over San Diego in Torero Stadium since 2001.

The Bruins received a goal in the 10th minute from freshman Ryan Hollingshead and a penalty kick goal in the 48th minute from senior Kyle Nakazawa after a foul in the box. The goals were the second of the season for both players. Nakazawa also had an assist on Hollingshead's goal, along with Chris Cummings.

Sophomore goalkeeper Brian Rowe made a career-high eight saves on San Diego's 15 shots, with the only goal allowed a penalty kick by Andrew Feld in the 62nd minute.

UCLA will next host UNLV on Sunday at Drake Stadium at 5 pm.
