"The goal we gave was poorly defended, but our right back had been hurt all week and was a little rusty. Our second goal was a great combination that led to a great team goal. Nakazawa had great vision to find him (Hollingshead) for the goal."

"Whenever you play against good teams, there is a lot of ebb and flow. We had great moments in the first half, and they had great moments in the second half. But we were resilient and did what we needed to do to advance."

(On if there was extra motivation to win due to the 2006 NCAA Championship game that UCSB won over UCLA): "It's a new year. We're happy to be in the quarterfinals, and we applaud UCSB for their play today."

(On goalkeeper Brian Perk's last save): "Perk is a very good shot stopper. (Luis) Silva had a great shot at the top of the box, and Perk saw it off his foot."

"Santa Barbara took it to the forefront with their attack and pushed two guys high with a 3-5-2. We just fought and took chances where we could and pulled it out."

(On this being redemption from 2006) "A little bit. We're still a little bitter. They're our biggest rival, and it's a fun game. But it's always good to let them know we're still the top dog."

(On the game-winning goal) "It started with a good defensive effort and ended with a good combo between Ryan (Hollingshead) and myself. Ryan did a great job of finding me."

(On redemption): "We have a pretty big core of seniors on our team, and it was in the back of our minds tonight. It's a bit of redemption ... with a way better ending."

"I'm very proud of the effort. I thought that in the first half we were a little bit tentative. We played more their game. I challenged them at halftime and said they have to go after it. The team responded in the second half and created opportunities and played very good soccer. If you're going to end your season, end it like that - deep in the playoffs, on the road, and giving everything that you have."

"I can feel proud that we took 23 freshmen and sophomores to a 17-5 season. You always want to go a little further than the year before, and this group has taken the ball and rolled it further."

"In the second half, I felt like we dominated but were unable to capitalize. We let up too much in the back and didn't do enough up top."

(On UCLA goalkeeper Brian Perk): "Perk is a great goalkeeper and our U-20 goalkeeper for a reason. But we also made it easy for him - we kicked balls right at him. These are things we need to develop next year."
