UCLA Upends UCI in Men's Tennis

Bruins cruise to 7-0 victory.

IRVINE, Calif. - The UCLA men's tennis team, who are ranked No. 2 nationally, topped No. 70 UC Irvine, 7-0, at the UCI Tennis Stadium, Wednesday.

After winning the doubles point, the Bruins swept singles with wins from No. 1 Jean-Noel Grinda (No. 6 nationally), No. 2 Vincent Allegre (No. 4), No. 3 Matt Breen (No. 54), No. 4 Jason Cook (No. 70), No. 5 Alex Decret and No. 6 Brandon Kramer. After losing the first set 6-7 and being tied 4-4 in the second set, Decret won eight straight games to close out the match and the victory for the Bruins.

UCI's lone win came at No. 1 doubles where juniors Thomas Bohun and Andrew Cheney defeated Cook and Breen.

The Anteaters fall to 1-1 overall, while UCLA goes to 2-0.
