Abid and Dehaine Advance at Pacific Coast Doubles

Bruin duo reaches semifinals with a pair of wins Saturday.

La Jolla, Calif. - UCLA's Haythem Abid and Mathieu Dehaine won a pair of matches Saturday to advance to the semifinals at the Pacific Coast Doubles Championships at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.

Abid and Dehaine began the day with a 5-7, 7-5, 6-0 victory over Rice's Ralph Knupfee/Tobias Scheil. The Bruin duo followed that up with a 6-4, 6-2 quarterfinal win over Fresno State's Taylor Leiby/Rudolf Siwy. Abid and Dehaine will next face Achim Ceban and Benedikt Stronk in Sunday's semifinals.

UCLA's Jeremy Drean and Michael Look lost in the round of 16 Saturday to Lieby/Siwy, 6-3, 7-6(3).
