No. 2 UCLA Upset In First Round by No. 15 Illinois

LOUISVILLE, Kty. -- In their bid to three-peat the National Team Indoor title, the No. 2 ranked UCLA men's tennis team was upset by No. 15 Illinois. The action could not have been much closer as three singles matches went to a third set and two others needed first-set tiebreakers.

Illinois claimed the doubles point with victories on court Nos. 2 and 3 and the teams split the singles matches down the middle. UCLA claimed victory on court Nos 1, 2 and 4, but Illinois won on Nos. 2, 5 and 6.

UCLA will play next on Friday, Feb. 20 at 8 a.m., while Illinois will play at Noon on Friday.
