TEMPE, Ariz. -- The UCLA men's tennis team registered a 6-1 Pac-10 Conference victory over No. 51 ranked Arizona State University at Whiteman Tennis Center today.

UCLA claimed the doubles point by sweeping all three matches. However, ASU kept it close as all three doubles went to the final game, including a tiebreaker at the No. 2 slot where the Bruins' team of Noah Newman and Alex Decret allowed just three points in the tiebreaker en route to a 9-8 win over ASU's Alex Osterrieth and Gustavo Marcaccio. Court No. 3 finished first with UCLA's tandem of Vince Allegre and Chris Sands defeating ASU's Peter Dani and Casey Was 8-6. The Bruins' No. 1 team avenged an earlier loss and clinched the doubles point as they handed the Sun Devil's Ed Carter and Tim Hammond their first loss of the season.
