Men's Tennis Players Head to Sherwood Collegiate Cup

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA men's tennis team will be sending eight players to the 2013 Sherwood Collegiate Cup this weekend, as the tournament kicks off this Friday at the beautiful Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks, Calif. USC, Baylor, Stanford and Cal are also sending players to the event. Bruin sophomore Marcos Giron is seeded No. 2, while USC's Ray Sarmiento is the top seed. Dennis Novikov and Dennis Mkrtchian are both seeded fifth. Other Bruin players competing in the event this weekend are Ryoto Tachi, Seth Stolar, Adrien Puget, Karue Sell and Alex Brigham. Play runs from Friday to Monday. Giron and Brigham both advanced to the consolation singles final at Sherwood in 2012, however elected not to face each other.
