LOS ANGELES - UCLA's Marcos Giron and Nick Meister were beaten in the first round of doubles play at the ATP's Farmers Classic on Wednesday evening at UCLA's Los Angeles Tennis Center.

Giron and Meister, who were awarded a wild card into the 16-team doubles draw, suffered a 7-6(3), 6-2 loss to American's Rajeev Ram and Michael Russell. The loss concludes UCLA's involvement in the tournament, as Meister, who actually won three qualifying matches to reach the main singles draw, was beaten by Xavier Malisse in the first round on Tuesday. Giron was also in the qualifying singles draw, falling to teammate Clay Thompson.
