Tulsa, Okla. - UCLA's Marcos Giron came up just a little short in his bid to reach the quarterfinals of the ITA Men's All-American Championships on Friday, falling in the round of 16 at Tulsa's Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

Playing in extremely cold and windy conditions in Tulsa, Giron, who was the last remaining UCLA player in the event, suffered a 6-3, 6-2 loss to Ohio State's Peter Kobelt on Friday. UCLA's only other player in the main draw, Clay Thompson, was beaten in the first round on Thursday.

Giron's loss concludes UCLA's involvement in the event. Next up for UCLA is the ITA Regionals, Oct. 19-22, at UC Irvine.
