Malibu, Calif. - Bruin newcomer Matt Brooklyn reached the quarterfinals in singles, while the UCLA tandem of Amit Inbar and Holden Seguso advanced to the semifinals in doubles, as the UCLA men's tennis team recently concluded play at the Wilson/ITA West-South Regional Championships at Pepperdine over the weekend.

Brooklyn, a transfer from ASU, won three matches in the singles draw before being beaten by USC's Matt Kecki, 6-4, 6-1 on Sunday. The fourth-seeded Brooklyn advanced to the quarterfinals without dropping a set in his previous three matches. Bruins Holden Seguso (injury), Eugen Brazdil, Ahmed Ismail and Nick Meister were all ousted in the round of 32 of singles play.

In doubles, Inbar and Seguso had the most success of the Bruins' three doubles teams in the draw, reaching the semifinals. The duo, however, had to withdraw from its semifinal encounter with top-seeded Robert Farah/Steve Johnson of USC due to an injury suffered by Seguso in singles. UCLA's Brazdil/Meister fell in the quarterfinals to second-seeded Omar Altmann/Bassam Beidas of Pepperdine, 8-1.
