Faldermeyer Qualifies for NCAA Championship in Hammer Throw

Alec Faldermeyer became the third Bruin male to qualify for the NCAA Championships after winning the hammer competition at the NCAA West Prelim in Austin, TX on Friday. Faldermeyer came into the meet ranked No. 1 in the region and maintained that standing with today's finish. His winning throw came on his second attempt. The three-time All-American sophomore passed all three throws in the finals since his spot was secure.
Junior Maxwell Dyce qualified for Saturday's quarterfinal round of the 200m after finishing in the top three of his heat on Friday night. Dyce was third in heat three with a season-best of 20.80 and will run at 7:35 pm (CT) on Saturday. His time was also the seventh-fastest 200m mark through all prelim rounds.
Junior Dillon Stucky won his flight in the triple jump and finished 25th overall with a jump of 49-10.
In the steeplechase, senior Kent Morikawa finished 10th in heat three and 32nd overall with a time of 9:17.26. He does not advance to the NCAA Championships.
