Bruins Tied for 19th After Third Day of NCAA Championships

Austin, TX - At the conclusion of the third day of the 2004 NCAA Championships, held at Texas' Mike A. Myers Stadium, the Bruin men are tied for 19th with four points.

Final Event Results
Decathlon (Day 1) - In the first day of the decathlon, senior Chris Staton scored 3,652 points. In the 100m, he ran 11.23 (+2.7, 810 points). In the long jump, he had a mark of 21-11.75 (6.70m, 743 points). In the shot put, he threw 39-8.75 (12.11m, 613 points). In the high jump, he cleared 6-6.75 (2.00m, 803 points). And, in the 400m, he ran 52.97 (683 points). Staton is currently 21st overall. The decathlon will conclude tomorrow.
Preliminary Track Results (Top nine advance to the finals.) 400m Hurdles - Junior Jonathan Williams and sophomore Brandon Johnson competed in the fourth and final heat of the 400m hurdles. Williams finished second, 11th overall, in 50.83. Johnson was fourth, 17th overall, in 51.24. |
