UCLA earned its second consecutive trip to the championship match of the Asics Invitational Friday night with a five-set victory against UC San Diego.

The Bruins won 26-24, 25-19, 22-25, 17-25, 15-8 to advance to the final Saturday night at 6:30 p.m. against top-ranked UC Irvine. The Bruins improved to 2-0 and the Tritons fell to 1-1. UCI (2-0) was a 3-0 winner against Long Beach State (1-1).

UCLa's Gonzalo Quiroga led all players with 17 kills and 20 points. Junior Dane Worley added 15 kills and junior Jonathan Bridgeman recorded 11 kills.

Carl Eberts led the Tritons with 14 kills, an ace and one solo block for 16 points.
