Eighth-ranked UCLA fell in three games to No. 3 Pepperdine Wednesday night in Malibu.

The Waves won 31-29, 30-26, 30-25 in 91 minutes in front of 922 fans at Firestone Fieldhouse. The victory raised Pepperdine's record to 8-1 overall, 7-1 in MPSF play. The Bruins fell to 7-7, 4-4.

UCLA senior Sean O'Malley boasted a double-double in the loss, recording 12 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Teddy Goetz and freshman Jack Polales added eight kills apiece.

Senior All-American Paul Carroll led the Waves with 19 kills.

Both teams recorded a pair of aces; Pepperdine out-blocked UCLA, 10.0-6.5.

The Bruins will complete their road trip on Friday by traveling to USC for a 7 p.m. conference match at the Galen Center.
