UCLA Sweeps Alumni in Men's Volleyball

The UCLA men's volleyball team defeated its alumni squad Saturday at the John Wooden Center. The Bruin varsity won 25-22, 25-22, 25-15. The teams also played a fourth set, which the varsity won 25-22. UCLA redshirt sophomore Matt Hanley led all players with 11 kills (.600) and two aces for 13 points. Redshirt freshman Kene Izuchukwu and fifth-year senior Ryal Jagd each added five kills. Connor Bannan, substituting for starting setter Kyle Caldwell who was playing in the Pan Am Games, recorded 23 set assists and two total blocks. Matt Wade and Marcin Jagoda led the alumni with six kills each. Kevin Ker led the alumni with nine assists. The Bruins will host the SAC Tournament Nov. 11-12 before completing their fall practice. |
