The UCLA men's volleyball team advanced to the championship match of the UCSB Elephant Bar Collegiate Invitational with a victory over UC Santa Barbara Friday night.
The Bruins (2-0) defeated the Gauchos (1-1) 30-23, 30-27, 30-28 in 85 minutes. UCLA meets Long Beach State (2-0) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the title match. The 49ers defeated Cal State Northridge, 3-0.
In other results, UC Irvine defeated Stanford 3-0 and USC beat Pacific 3-0.
Saturday night UCLA will be aiming for its third consecutive Elephant Bar crown.
The Bruins hit .421 for against the Gauchos, led by Paul George's career-high 14 kills (.700). Freshman Sean O'Malley added 10 kills and senior Damien Scott served all three of the Bruins' aces.
