Stein Metzger and Mike Lambert captured the AVP Chicago tournament Sunday building momentum for this week's Manhattan Beach Open, Aug. 10-12.

Metzger and Lambert defeated Brad Keenan and John Hyden, 21-19, 21-17 for their fourth title of the 2007 season. The victory marked the pair's third win in their last four appearances. Keenan-Hyden played in their first tournament final.

The victory allowed Metzger-Lambert to move into second place in the overall Crocs Cup standings.

For Metzger, who led UCLA to three NCAA indoor championships, the victory was his 15th career first-place finish.

In other UCLA volleyball news, former Bruin All-American Brandon Taliaferro and the U.S. National Team won a silver medal at the Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The U.S. team lost in the championship match to host Brazil.
