Bruins Host Alumni in Men's Volleyball Saturday

Stars of the past return to compete against the UCLA varsity.

Several former UCLA volleyball greats, including four-time All-America setter Brandon Taliaferro, will return to campus Sat., Nov. 15 for the annual Alumni match against the Bruin varsity.

First serve begins at 1 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion. Admission is free.

The long list of former players includes 14 All-Americans at last count and numerous members of NCAA championship teams. Mark Williams, Matt Komer and Danny Farmer highlight the recent era, while another includes Roger Clark, Wally Goodrick and Art Rasmussen. From the 2006 NCAA title team Paul George, Nick Scheftic and Tony Ker are expected to compete.

The UCLA varsity won the Husky Dino Cup last month in Calgary, BC, and senior Sean O'Malley earned MVP honors. The Bruins were 3-1 against a group of top Canadian teams.
