2008 Jim Toring Memorial Golf Tournament Registration Form

LOS ANGELES - The UCLA men's and women's water polo teams will host the 10th Annual Jim Toring Golf Tournament on Monday, July 14, at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club in Mission Viejo, Calif. The yearly event, held in memoriam of former Bruin All-American Jim Toring, directly benefits both UCLA water polo programs.

Participants at this year's golf tournament will have the opportunity to meet student-athletes from both the men's and women's water polo teams. The women's water polo team won its fourth consecutive NCAA Championship on Sunday, May 11.

The day's events begin at 10:30 a.m. and include 18 holes of golf at Arroyo Trabuco Golf Club, tournament shirts and caps, tee gifts, access to the driving range, a putting contest, the "low gross" foursome awards, the "low net" foursome awards, raffle prizes, a silent auction, cocktails and a sit-down dinner and program. Shotgun start is slated for 12:30 p.m.

Entry into the tournament costs $250 (one foursome costs $900). There are many ways in which friends of UCLA water polo can support the tournament. For those who cannot attend, there are opportunities to sponsor a tee sign, donate an item to the silent auction or to the prize drawing, or advertise with signs at local stores and businesses.

The above PDF registration form indicates how to sponsor a tee and sign and several other items. Tee signs appear at each hole on the course and will be seen by each golfer that afternoon. Sponsoring a tee sign is 100 percent tax-deductible and can feature a company name, company logo or phrase showing your support for UCLA's water polo program.

Previous items donated to the silent auction and prize drawing have included a "Day on the Water Polo Bench," roundtrip airline tickets, a trip to the Bay Area water polo/football weekend, Los Angeles Dodgers' tickets, vintage fine wines, seats in the VIP press box at a UCLA football game, breakfast with John Wooden, UCLA basketball tickets and pre-game receptions, a private suite at the Honda Center, UCLA Adidas sportswear, gift certificates to local restaurants, and UCLA memorabilia autographed by John Wooden, current coaches and former Bruins playing in the NBA and NFL.
