UCLA's Scott Davidson Named MPSF Co-Player of the Week
Nov. 9, 2009
WOODLAND, Calif. - Senior attacker Scott Davidson of the UCLA men's water polo team has earned MPSF Mikasa Co-Player of the Week honors for the week of Nov. 2-8, as announced Monday by the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF). Davidson, who shares the weekly award with USC goalkeeper Joel Dennerley, scored a game-high four goals in UCLA's 7-6 loss to top-ranked USC on Saturday, Nov. 7. The resident of Seal Beach, Calif., moved into sole possession of seventh place on the Bruins' all-time scoring list, eclipsing current head coach Adam Wright's total of 138 goals (1997-2000). Davidson has scored at least one goal in 19 of UCLA's 24 matches and has registered 12 multiple-goal games this season. He becomes the third Bruin to earn MPSF Co-Player of the Week honors this fall. Fellow seniors Cole Consani (Sept. 14) and Chay Lapin (Nov. 2) have also secured the weekly conference accolade. The No. 4 UCLA men's water polo team concludes its regular season against No. 9 UC Santa Barbara on Sunday, Nov. 15. Game time at UCLA's Spieker Aquatics Center is 1 p.m.
