LOS ANGELES - Tied for the nation's top men's water polo rankings, crosstown rivals UCLA and USC play Friday night at the Bruins' Spieker Aquatics Center in a pivotal MPSF match. Game time is 7 p.m. UCLA will provide a live audio broadcast of the match, free of charge, at uclabruins.com. The Bruins close their regular-season schedule at home against No. 5 UC Santa Barbara at 12 p.m. on Saturday.

Friday night's match between UCLA and USC has sold out, through advance ticket sales. Additional tickets will not be on sale at the facility on Friday evening.
Annual Crosstown Showdown
UCLA hosts USC at Spieker Aquatics Center on Friday night, the third meeting this season between the crosstown rivals. UCLA dropped a 10-8 decision to USC in the championship game of the NorCal Tournament (Sept. 18) before evening the season series two weeks later. The Bruins edged USC, 7-6, in the third-place match at the SoCal Tournament (Oct. 3).
Fans are encouraged to park on campus in the Sunset Village Parking Structure, adjacent to the tennis courts on the south side of Spieker Aquatics Center. The parking structure is located on De Neve Drive. From the 405, exit Sunset Blvd., continue east until Bellagio Drive. Turn right onto Bellagio, before turning left to De Neve. The aquatics facility and parking structure will be on the right side. Parking costs $11.

Saturday's Regular Season Finale
The Bruins conclude the regular season at home against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 12 p.m. Please note, this time has changed from the original schedule. UCLA will honor its three seniors - Brett Hays, Cullen Hennessy and Andrew Mesesan - prior to Saturday's opening sprint in the MPSF match against the Gauchos. UCLA has gone 2-0 against UCSB this fall.
MPSF Tournament Approaches (Tournament Website)
The top eight teams in the nine-team MPSF standings qualify for the annual MPSF Tournament, hosted by UCLA this season from Nov. 25-27 at Spieker Aquatics Center. Game times and matchups should be finalized Saturday evening. Tickets are available through UCLA's Central Ticket Office by calling (310) UCLA-WIN. UCLA's Recent Results
UCLA extended its win streak to a season-long nine games last week, earning a pair of victories on the road in MPSF action. The Bruins defeated Long Beach State, 13-10, on Nov. 10. Two days later, UCLA recorded a 9-6 win at Pepperdine. UCLA's nine-game win streak marks the team's longest such streak since recording 18 consecutive wins during the 2004 season.
Griffin White Nets Weekly Award
Junior attacker Griffin White earned KAP7 MPSF Player of the Week honors on Monday after having scored seven goals in UCLA's two MPSF wins last week. After recording two goals in the team's 13-10 win at Long Beach State last Thursday, White registered a season-high five goals in UCLA's 9-6 victory last Saturday. White was also honored as the KAP7 MPSF Player of the Week on Monday, Sept. 26.
Wright, Lapin Strike Gold for USA
Head coach Adam Wright and former UCLA goalkeeping standout Chay Lapin played for the United States Men's National Team at the Pan American Games in Guadajalara, Mexico (late October), leading Team USA to the gold medal and clinching a berth to the 2012 Olympics. Wright played for Team USA at the 2004 (7th place) and 2008 Olympics (silver medal).
History Versus No. 1 Team
UCLA has gone 2-0 against No. 1-ranked teams this year. After defeating then-No. 1 USC, 7-6, on Oct. 2, the Bruins secured a 7-6 win at then-No. 1 Stanford on Oct. 15. The win at Stanford was UCLA's first against the No. 1 team since Nov. 28, 2009, when UCLA defeated USC, 10-6, in the semifinals of the MPSF Tournament.
Glancing at the MPSF Standings
UCLA enters the final regular season weekend in third place, at 5-1, in the MPSF. USC (7-0) and California (6-1) are first and second, respectively. Stanford (5-2) and UC Santa Barbara are fourth and fifth, respectively. Pepperdine (2-6) and UC Irvine (2-6) are tied for sixth, while Long Beach State (1-6) and Pacific (1-6) are tied for eighth.
