UCLA Beats Oregon State 76-72
CORVALLIS, Ore. - After trailing by 15 points at the half, UCLArallied to beat Oregon State 76-72 Thursday night in Pacific-10 women'sbasketball. The Bruins (7-5, 2-1) next travel to Oregon.
UCLA hit just 32.4 percent(12-for-37) of its shots in the first half, but improved to 64.3 percent (18-for-28) in the second.
"Theyweren't hitting a lot of their shots in the first half," OSU coach JudySpoelstra said. "So you had to expect them to A, hit more shots, or B, crash theboards, and they did both."
The Bruins outrebounded the Beavers 45-31 for the game, and also cut theirturnovers from 14 in the first half to eight in the second.
Maylana Martin had 16 points for UCLA and Janae Hubbard 14points and 11 rebounds, with Aisha Veasley adding 12 points and Takiyah Jackson10.
