LOS ANGELES, Calif.- The UCLA women's basketball team continued its winning ways by defeating Oregon State 81-70 at home in front of 1,769 fans. The Bruins, now 14-6 (9-2 in the Pac-10), have now won nine of the last 10 and 12 of the last 14 games. Oregon State, in contrast, has lost seven consecutive and is 6-14 on the season (1-10 in the Pac-10).
UCLA finished the game shooting 54.1%. Maylana Martin led the Bruins in scoring with 21 points on 9-13 shooting. Center Janae Hubbard racked up 15 points, and reserve center Carly Funicello totaled 11. Forward Marie Philman scored seven points and led all players in rebounding (13) and assists (8), both career-highs.
The Beavers were led by Monica Watts with a career-high tying 23 points, while Sissel Pierce added 16.
UCLA will face Stanford on Thursday, Feb. 12 at Maples Pavilion.
