UCLA Runs Past Seton Hall 88-58 in Pac 10/BIG EAST Challenge

UCLA, 5-4, won its third straight game and fifth in its last six outings with an 88-58 victory over Seton Hall in the nightcap of the Pac-10/Big East Conference Challenge in UCLA's Pauley Pavilion.
The Bruins forced 33 Seton Hall turnovers in sweeping past the Pirates while limiting the visitors to just .412 shooting. Sophomore guard Melanie Pearson led the way for the Bruins with 15 points, including three from three-point range. She was joined on teh Challenge All-Tournament team by sophomore forward Maylana Martin who added 14 points on seven-of-11 shooting from the field.
UCLA led 46-28 at the intermission after shooting .553 in the first half and built as much as a 32-point advantage, 83-51, with 2:59 to play in the game. The Pirates, now 2-7, were paced by freshman forward Monique Lee's 14 points, All-Tournament selection, Danielle Golay added 12 points and a game-high nine boards for Seton Hall.
Pac-10 Conference play begins Friday, Jan. 2, as UCLA will host Arizona in Pauley Pavilion at 7:30 p.m.
