UCLA senior guard Darxia Morris was named Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 15-21, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

The play of the Pasadena, Calif., native was key in UCLA's two wins last week. She came up big in the Bruins' 86-83 double-overtime victory at then-No. 12/12 Notre Dame. Morris drained a three-pointer with 8.8 seconds left in regulation to tie the score. In the second overtime with three seconds left, her steal and two free throws helped the Bruins clinch the win. She finished the game with a season-high 17 points, with eight of those coming in the overtime periods. The last time the Bruins won at the home site of a team ranked higher than No. 12 Notre Dame was on March 12, 1988, when they upset then-No. 11 Stanford.

In a 65-49 victory over the previously-unbeaten UC Davis, Morris scored a team-high 14 points, helping UCLA to a 4-0 start, its best since the 1986-87 season.

This is Morris' first-career Player of the Week honor and UCLA's 42nd all-time, second-most in Conference history.

After a brief Thanksgiving break, No. 13-ranked UCLA (4-0) will return to action and host Temple on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
