July 10, 2002

Welcome everybody - you now have all-access to my diary. My summer is going well, nothing to complain about. Although if I had a choice, I would be in Hawaii like I was last year with my teammate Gen. I am slowly but surely recovering from surgery, and I am itching to get back on the court and condition with my team. My teammates, coaches, family and friends are very supportive, and they assure me that there is no need to rush.

We just finished our first camp, the elite camp, and we are now in the middle of the day camp, which started Monday. I enjoy doing camp, although it is very demanding. I feel like I not only help to improve kids' basketball skills but at the same time I touch up my own. Crazy, isn't it?

I am hoping to go home in a couple of weeks, in between Session A and C summer school. Back to good ol' Wenatchee, Washington. It seems like I haven't been home in ages, so I am excited to see my family and friends.

The summer has just begun, and I plan to keep busy the entire time, whether it be basketball or school. I am planning to work out with a basketball trainer, who will continue to work on my outside shot and ball-handling. With it being my senior year next year, I have to be able to look back in the future and say I did everything I could to be the best player I can be.

I am proud of our team and all of their hard work. We are kicking butt in the weight room and burning rubber on the track. We have been confronted with a challenge, and we have stepped up to the plate.

Well, unfortunately, I have to wrap up now. But I am glad that you have taken the time to get to know me and see how my summer is going. I also hope that your summer is going well and that you enjoy the rest of it.
