USA Remains in Third at Copa del las Americas Tournament

Follow UCLA Athletics on Twitter Follow UCLA Athletics on Facebook The United States remained in third place in the women's team standings and UCLA sophomore Erynne Lee completed her second round of play at the Copa del las Americas tournament Friday in Miami. Lee remained in contention for the individual crown halfway through the tournament, posting a three-over par 75 for a 36-hole total of 148 (+4). That score was four shots behind the leader, Gabriela Lopez (144, E) of Mexico. Lee's teammate Lindy Duncan was ninth at 10-over par 154 after posting a 78 (+6). In the women's team competition, the USA was third at 302, trailing first place Argentina and Canada by two shots. In the combined competition (men and women), the USA was fifth, trailing Canada by seven shots. The 2013 Copa de las Americas, conducted by the Americas Golf Association and hosted by the United States Golf Association, is a team event for amateurs in North, Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. It is a 72-hole stroke-play event, combining team and individual scores for overall, men and women. The competition ends on Sunday at the Blue Monster Course at Doral Resort and Spa.
