UCLA All-American Erynne Lee led the United States women's team to the Copa de las Americas championship and finished first individually Sunday in Miami,

Lee posted a final round score of 72 (E) at the Blue Monster Course at Doral Resort and Spa to give the USA a total of 597 (+21). That total beat Canada (598, +22) by one stroke. The women's team title was the USA's third straight.

Individually, Lee's 72-hole total of 291 (+3) was the lowest women's score of the tournament, although no recognition was given to the first-place individual.

The USA's win in the women's team competition seemed in doubt after Lee hit her approach shot on the 18th hole in the water. But she got up and down to make a bogey that assured the one-stroke victory.

"It's definitely special knowing that our name will be on the award, going down in history," said Lee, a sophomore.

Teammate Lindy Duncan posted a 76 (+4) and placed sixth with a four-round score of 306 (+18).

In the overall (men's and women's) competition, the USA finished third with a score of 1,179 (+27). The U.S. also took third in the men's competition with a score of 582 (+6).
