The UCLA Women travel east today for the challenging gauntlet of the Liz Murphey Fall Preview in Athens, GA. The three-day tournament will run from October 5th-7th, at the University of Georgia Golf Course.

The Bruins will face off against a loaded field that features #2 Purdue, #4 Duke, #9 Southern California, #10 Vanderbilt, #12 Virginia, and #13 Auburn among others. UCLA will need to use the tournament not only as a preview of top competitive teams, but also as a scouting run for the NCAA Championship course later this year.
"This is an important event for us," said Hall of Fame Head Coach Carrie Forsyth, "as it provides our team a chance to see and play the golf course we will be competing on for the NCAA Championship in May." Forsyth believes that early knowledge of the course will aid her team when they travel back in the Spring. "The University Course at Georgia underwent a remodel a few years back," the coach noted, "and it has changed a lot since the time that I played it, back in 1990. But I have heard good things about the course, and our team is excited to see it."

The Bruins, who dropped out of the "Golfweek" Top 25 after their finish at the Golfweek Collegiate Invitational, will be looking to get back into form after the return of several key players to the lineup.
"We are also glad to be back a full strength for the event," continued Forsyth. "It was difficult to compete last week at the Golfweek Collegiate with only 4 players, and missing our two All-Americans, Erynne Lee and Tiffany Lua. Although Tiffany will still not be able to play this week, we have Erynne, and fellow World Team Amateur selection, Kyle Roig back in the line-up."

The returning sophomores, Lee and Roig, will rejoin senior Lee Lopez, junior Ani Gulugian, and freshman Louise Ridderstrom to round out the lineup.
