The UCLA Women's Golf team headed south on Saturday to compete in the first round of the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, in Austin, TX. The three-day tournament will run from Oct. 28-30, at the University of Texas Golf Club.

The competition presents somewhat of a break for the Bruins, as the tournament only features three teams ranked inside in the top 10 nationally by Golfweek. #6 Florida will provide the stiffest test of the tournament, followed by Alabama and Arizona State, ranked numbers nine and ten respectively. The Sun Devils will be the only Pac-12 opponent the Bruins face in the competition, but the University of Denver, UC Davis, and Pepperdine will provide some familiar faces.

The Bruins will look to continue their development as a team, as they will play their fourth tournament of the year without senior Tiffany Lua, still recovering from an injured wrist. Sophomore Kyle Roig will also not be making the trip, as she is taking an indefinite leave of absence from the team for personal reasons. As such, the lineup will consist of senior Lee Lopez, junior Ani Gulugian, sophomore Erynne Lee, and freshman Louise Ridderstrom.
