Complete Results

In the final regular season matchup for both teams, fourth-ranked Stanford defeated eighth-ranked UCLA in Palo Alto, 196.825-196.250. UCLA junior Tasha Schwikert won two events, scoring 9.925 on vault and 9.95 on beam.

The Bruins got off to a shaky start when first competitor Natalie Padilla fell at the top of her routine and did not remount the uneven bars fast enough, receiving a substantial penalty. UCLA quickly recovered, however, with five strong routines that scored 48.95. Ashley Peckett following with a strong routine that merited 9.775. Ariana Berlin stuck her full-twisting double back dismount to score 9.825. Jordan Schwikert scored 9.625, Tasha Schwikert earned a 9.875, and Anna Li closed the set with her usual high-flying Tkatchev and double layout dismount that was good for a 9.85 score. Stanford took the first rotation lead with a score of 49.25. Alex Pintchouk led the Cardinal with a 9.9.

UCLA came out firing on all cylinders on vault in rotation two, scoring 49.35. Berlin led off with a big Yurchenko layout full that scored a 9.85. Li stuck her Yurchenko layout full cold, also scoring 9.85. Peckett's Yurchenko Arabian earned a 9.825. Jordan Schwikert stuck her Yurchenko layout full for a 9.9. Michelle Selesky powered a sky-high Yurchenko Arabian with a step forward for a 9.8, and Tasha Schwikert ended the set with a near-perfect Yurcehnko layout full that was stuck cold for a 9.925. Stanford, meanwhile, scored 48.950 on uneven bars to bring the two teams to a dead heat at the halfway mark, 98.3-all.

Berlin led off for UCLA on floor exercise and nailed her double pike mount and whip to double full dismount for a 9.775. Selesky got great height on her opening double pike but hopped back. She finished by nailing her middle and last passes to score 9.775. Jordan Schwikert hit a beautiful double pike opening pass and earned a 9.725. Janelle Dantzscher, competing for the first time in nearly two months after being diasgnosed with a stress fracture in her foot, upgraded her tumbling, opening with a double tuck, but she put her hands down on her double pike dismount and scored 9.2. Peckett upgraded her tumbling as well, mounting with a tucked full-in that she stuck cold. However, at the end of her routine, she was off on her double turn and thus got got caught in her jump sequences and did not receive full credit, scoring 9.625 with a 9.9 start value routine. Li finished off with a 9.8 to bring the Bruins' floor score to 48.8. Stanford earned 49.225 on balance beam to regain the lead, 147.525-147.100.

In the final rotation, UCLA scored 49.15 on balance beam. Berlin delivered another terrific leadoff routine, earning 9.775. Peckett nailed her punch front mount and back tuck/back tuck flight series and also scored 9.775. Ashley Jenkins and Jordan Schwikert followed with a pair of 9.825s. After Li scored 9.375 after falling on her mount, Tasha Schwikert closed the rotation with a near-perfect 9.95 to give the Bruins a total of 49.15. In addition, Melissa Chan, who was recently reinstated to the team, made her 2007 debut, exhibitioning on balance beam. Chan showed little signs of rust, hitting her set cleanly for a score of 9.65. Stanford did not give anything away on floor in the last rotation, earning 49.3 to clinch the victory.
